Quintessentially evil, and very iconic D&D monsters. Very cool.

Mainly because their name is an anagram of "salad". Oh, plus the whole chaotic toad thing is cool too.

The new reptilian ones are so much better than the weird doggy style 2nd ed ones. I'm very partial to scaly things...

Rakshasas! I prefer them in intrigue encounters rather than combat (where they shut down up to half your standard party), but man are they fun

Blackshirt5, you mentioned piercers...now that's a classic monster. I also fondly remember the Trapper, which ate one of my brother's characters. If I'm not mistaken, I think the Trapper makes an appearance again Tome of Horrors.
