I know a lot of people like eberron, and I might like it too if I ever got the chance to read into it a bit. I personally like the dragonmech setting.
What are some other non-traditional, or high-fantasy, settings that you guys enjoy or would recommend?
I don't know that Eberron is very non-traditional really. I mean, it's pretty much D&D with the D&D-ness turned up a notch.

I'd vote probably for Dark Sun and Iron Kingdoms. Both of those r0xx0rz by b0xx0rz and kn0xxorz off my s0xx0rz.

I dunno. I don't see many 'traditional' worlds that have magic trains and living construct creatures, among other things.

I'm giving my votes to:
Eberron (It's not traditional damnit ;) )
Iron Kingdoms
Dark Sun

In addition to Dark Legacies (of course) ;) my old school favorites are Dark Sun and Planescape. The folks oveer at athas.org are doing some really good work updating Dark Sun to 3.5.

Al-Qadim is my favorite non-trad setting. So much good stuff in it from the obvious environmental change (desert/jungle vs temperate forests) to the religious orders, but you had to have a group of players that really bought into the setting. Iron Kingdoms is great, I just wish they hadn't taken so long getting our the campaign books. Eberron got me excited enough to actually make the switch to the 3.5 rule set, which says a lot.

Planescape, most definatly the most original setting ever. although i wish they had been a bit more adult in their treatment of classic philosophies. not that i mind, but when your literture teacher/parent cringes while reading the description of the factions... yeah that can suck

2nd is Ebberron

Planescape, without a doubt. I ran a Greyhawk-Planescape game for years and years. I like Dark Sun too, but I find it's just a bit too... monochromatic for long campaigns.

A'koss.
