What is your favorite thing about Drizzt or Elminster

I really like that assassin as well. I knew his name I just didnt want to take a chance with an incorrect spelling. :)

I like the drow with the bald held very much as well, so thats another point in Drizzt's favor. This time though, I can't remember his name even though I know the realms inside and out (as well as the books).

Elminster:
1. Use of the word "ye" in everyday speech.
2. The fact that he will never, ever see you, no matter how long you sit in his waiting room.
3. The Wizards Three articles. God, I loved those.

Drizzt:
1. Scimitars. Man, nobody used scimitars before him.
2. He is a geek litmus test (The more you like or hate him, the bigger geek you probably are* :D
3. Many of his fans don't even play D&D, and therefore avoid being subjected to tiresome 'anti-drizt' whining.

* Yes, I'm a geek.

Sigh
Being half-drow, Ziona thinks Drizzt is dreamy.

Seriously, though, Drizzt is one of the most heroic characters ever! It probably seems over done to some, but I enjoy reading about his struggle from darkness to light, (especially in the drow trilogy). His bravery & heroics make for excellent tales & adventures. Nuff said!

Drizzt...great example of the fast and dextrous fighter that survives by something other then impossible strength (conan, hercules, etc.)

Elminster...great example of the world-wise, but not perfect old wizard that you expect to live until the end of time.

Drizzt I like because he grows throughout the development of the crystal shard, and the homeland trilogy. It is not Drizzt that I enjoy most, it is the people he interacts with. Catti-Brie, Bruenor, Alustriel, Belwar Dissengulp - they define Drizzt as much as he defines himself.

Elminster I like because he's just fun. He Talks to liches in tombs instead of killing them, he seeks out magic for knowledge's sake rather than for plunder, and he can kick righteous butt on anyone who would harm those in need. The funny thing about Elminster is that he gained his most powerful magics through being friends with people, rather than by taking it from them.
