D&D 5E What is your "go to" campaign concept?

Generally my default is pulpy fantasy, with some elements of horror and comedy.

The PCs are action heroes, not horror victims even when running gothic horror themed adventures. They might fail forward, but they are not crippled with despair or lack of agency or options.

So basically Army of Darkness the D&D game.

My "go to" is very much like the OP's. I also have some older players and some of them drive a fair distance to get to the game. We jump in on time and we end on time. That all means mission-based adventures in a linked campaign is my usual mode.
 


My basic go to is ancient precursor race that's not quite gone burger.

Locally it starts similar to LMoP/T1/Start of Night Below.
 

My go-to is "Magical Post-Apocalyptic." The world was destroyed by magic long ago, and the ruined world is still stained with its residue. Even so, there are those who would see this dread power returned to the world once more...
