What is YOUR level??

Eh, I'd say Clr1. Maybe adept, if we'd like to stick with NPC classes.

Aren't most basic PC's considered to have basically finished their initial training? 13+ years of schooling, yeah I can see that as being rudimentary training.
Mr. Midget, I think the problem lies in the way skills work in the d20 system. I didn't exactly like labeling myself as sixth level - that seems much too high for my liking. However, because I am fairly confident that those skill ranks are about right, it puts me into a 'must be, huh?' catergory. (Fairly certain because, by comparing DC's, that all seems about right.) An unfortunate consequence of many skills is the fact that it is assumed to elevate combat prowess, as well - but, then again, I think many people have noted that problem time and time again.

I highly doubt anyone on here is above 10th level in terms of anythign sans some PHD wielding historian who would be an expert or perhaps a black belt in 2 marital arts forms that has had 10+years of training... [/B]

trying to judge how?

i mean, by income from expert lvls i am sure i blow away 10th as an artist...i have definetely "bumped up" my stats more than once...you are gonna have to be more specific about why you think noone here is over 10th.

some of us i am sure need at least 10 lvls to explain our skill stats...and some need 12th or 16th to explain our bumped stats..:)

Mr. Rats...er...Ralts?

You've won the dubious honor of becoming an NPC in my game...

...something about a drunken insulting neighbor who was once an adventurer and who wants those kids to get off his lawn is quite hilarious to me. :)

Thanks! :D Glad to see you took the whole thing in the sarcastic humor that it was meant for. Didn't dawn on me till later that people might take offense.

Drunken insulting neighbor NPC. Hehehhehehe. Immortality has been achieved!!!!

OK, I'll bite. What the hell is all of this. Makes my eyes water and wonder if maybe I dropped Alphabet Soup on my monitor.
MMmmmm, alphabet soup. Wonder if I can burn it.
What I need is a 16th level Expert with 52 ranks in cook to help offset my unique talents of burning food before I even open the cans. :)

Here's an interesting thing I have noticed: Most people consider themselves from the NPC classes, with an odd smattering of PC classes here and there.

I am probably a low level Ranger/Cleric/Bard/Expert

I am good at survival camping, I am ambidexterous, I am quite good with a bow (can do the legolas 2 arrow trick and still hit stuff), I was an acolyte (altar boy) in my teenage years, I was a hacker in my teenage years (I learned to pick locks). I am very good at moving silently and hiding. I can climb. I can run several miles at a good pace. I am trianed in first aid and CPR. I have taken a lot of theology classes. I was nearly recruited by the jesuits even though I am an episcopalian. I am a history major, with computer science and Medieval studies background, I can play the Guitar, and I was a DJ for several years. I know how to work a crowd. I love to go camping. I love to tell stories. I am OK with a sword. According to the PHB and CoC stat descriptions my stats are as follows:

STR 16 (Just short of making the US national team in rowing)
DEX 14 (Great balance, Move with grace, ambidexterous)
CON 14 (rarely get sick, can run or row long distances)
INT 14 (IQ tested several times at 140)
WIS 14 (Very aware of my surroundings and have great perception and intuition)
CHA 14 (handsome [but not pretty] take charge type)

Aaron.

str 8
dex 12
con 7
int 13
wis 8
cha 13

its hard to gauge what is average (10) so the numbers are a little off

str- i am weak- but not bone thin
dex- i am very nimble and coordinated
con- i get sick everytime a virus rolls around town
int- my IQ is 140
wis- i am only 23 years... but i have some common sense
cha- ii'd like to think I am charming and persuasive...

forgetting for a moment about the prereqs to being a loremaster- i think I am very good at myths and lores. I read up on them a lot and like telling them (hence DMing) and I have a thing for telling stories- kids love me

as for skills- i would have to say:
cook, sew. craft (wood) balance, knowledge (science), knowledge (society), profession (artist),

feat: weapon prof (stick), run

Perhaps I should write a 'thesis' on this. Int 17 <> 170 IQ, except in 1E. It's so far off it's not even funny...

By the 'Detect thoughts' spell, a 170 would be a 23 or 24.

Hmm....

Human Male NG (neutral tendencies)

Expert 4/Rogue 2

Str 12
Dex 15
Con 15
Wis 15
Int 16
Cha 14

(Note: In Denmark we roll 5d6 for ability scores :p)

Skills (Note: Skill points are on the fly - didn't want to bother calculating them): Bluff +3, Concentration +2, Craft (metalworking) +1, Diplomacy +6, Gather Information +2, Intimidate +4, Knowledge (computers) +5, Knowledge (Marketing) +4, Knowledge (history) +4, Knowledge (religion) +2, Perform (DMing) +?, Pilot (automobile) +4, Profession (translator) +5, Research +5, Sense Motive +4 (+6 against women :D), Speak Languages (Danish, English, German, Spanish), Use Device +2.

In my own not so humble opinion - hehehehe
Feats: Discipline (from FRCS), Education (from FRCS - guess most of us have that one!), Lightning Reflexes, Weapon Finesse (Foil/Rapier):D

Neutral Good Expert

Str 10 (average)
Dex 12 (decent physical prowess)
Con 13 (I'm in good shape, very rarely get sick)
Int 15 (give or take, but its my best stat)
Wis 14 (somewhat intuitive, have enough willpower to get through grad school)
Cha 12 (I seem to have some talent with Cha-based skills)

I work a lot with people, and the following are definitely class skills for me: Bluff, Concentration, Diplomacy, Innuendo, Knowledge, Listen, Profession, Sense Motive. I've got no more than a few ranks in Climb, Gather Information, Move Silently, and Tumble. I also have some ranks in computer skills.

I studied martial arts for a few years, so I guess I'd get Improved Unarmed Strike. Maybe a Skill Focus in Diplomacy. None of the other feats are applicable to my life.
