What Lost, Abandoned or Short Lived TTRPG would you like to see get a re-issue and new support?

Marvel Multiverse is d666. I haven't read or played it - but from what I've read about it, it's a pretty conventional RPG design.

Marvel Heroic RP is less conventional - some people compare it to Fate, although I don't personally think they're as close as is sometimes mooted. I think it's a terrific system. Here's my adaption of it to MERP/LotR: Middle Earth/LotR RPGing using Cortex+ Heroic
Ah Marvel Heroic is hte cortex system. Have heard good stuff re: Cortex - and not just from you
:ROFLMAO:

I've played 5 or 6 sessions of NBA and...I came away with a very negative impression of the mechanics. Kevin Kulp is doing interesting things with Timewatch and Swords of the Serpentine, but he's pushing a rock uphill. IMHO it's just a bad system in play.
That still doesn't say what doesn't work. If you're not interested in discussing, that's fine... but I was just wondering. I've played several Gumshoe games, and it works splendidly, IMO. This is just the first time I've heard Gumshoe referred to as a 'bad system'.

Not THEMNGMNT but my problem with NBA agents are twofold. First, there are just way too many skills. It is too granular on that front. Second, the combat system is just kind of crappy. It is not fun and you never feel like Jason Bourne. There is a lot to love about NBA, but its implementation of Gumshoe is not great.

I pulled out my 4e PHB a few weeks ago and I was reminded just how radically diffrent it was from all other versions of D&D.

I think a revamp could work if it was card driven, slightly simpler, reduced some option bloat, and was focused on a specific setting versus trying to be generic fantasy D&D.
My oft-stated take on 4Ed has long been that it would make a GREAT classless toolbox system. Freed of D&Disms*, 4Ed’s core mechanics could easily support several genres of play.

* which, to be clear, I definitely like in my D&D

It'll never happen for a variety of reasons, but a 4e SRD with just the rules would be amazing.

Basically this.

I think the skills are taken care of by the MOS packages - you don't really have to go through them and they give the different characters a chance to shine. Paired with Double Tap, you get a lot of unique situations because of them and a lot of opportunity to lean into the second part...

... Not sure if you mean the fact that you're not able to just outclass everyone? That's one of the features of it to me. It's pairing two things and walking a fine line - horror, which is disempowering, and action, which is empowering. Against mooks, yeah, you're going to cut through them. But you're overpowered by the conspiracy- which is the genius of the conspyramid and the suspyramid. Against the big bads, if you get into a fight, you're done. Full Stop. You have to lean into the conspiracy part and use the aforementioned skills in order to play your enemies against each others, and apply your strengths to their weaknesses. I think that the combat system fits that well, to make you shy away from fair fights, and to use brain over brawn so that you don't get into the types of battle that more unrealistic agents get into.

But that's just my take on it, and it's worked very well for me.
