What makes a good RPG player?

Building off another thread, we see a lot of discussions on what makes a good DM. I'd like to put together a list of things that make a good RPG player. I'll get it started:
1. The ability to play well with others.
2. A good imagination.
3. ?

Honestly these days it's players that don't use their ****ing phone during a session. I'm easy to please I guess.

heh..that makes me laugh, the last group I played in had one of those folks who was always on the phone or internet surfing on a tablet.

A player that does not annoy the crap outta me.

On a more serious note:
1. Ability to listen and build on other players' input, instead of blocking them.
2. Quick thinking; being able to react to what's happening in game without getting passive or going on autopilot (which often means "mindless violence").
3. Courage to do what's interesting, not what is tried and safe.
4. Proactivity; setting own goals and pursuing them.
5. Flexibility; being able to play various types of characters, in various settings and playstyle. Also, being able to achieve compromise with other players without violating own character's concept.
6. Brevity; being able to express the character, their intentions and actions in a few words instead of long monologues.

A good player needs the following:
1) A sense of adventure
2) A sense of empathy
3) Is an apt listener
4) Is a good communicator

Follow-up toward greatness:
5) An innovator
6) A strong sense of imagination
7) Good organizational skills
8) A solid memory
9) Is subconsciously inclusive
10) Is humorous

A good player has all the qualities of a good GM. Or a good GM has all the qualities of a good player.

- Know the rules and be willing to compromise.
- Understand your fellow players' preferences and engage them.
- Understand your own preferences and present them in a positive and constructive manner.

I agree with what the last four posters said.

On top of that, just like anything in life, you want someone who is constantly striving to be better (whether they are a player or game master). In general, someone who's presence at your table adds something positive to the game.
