Now's the time and now's the hour,
See the front of battle lour,
See advance the elven power,
Bows and foppery.

"Level 1"

"It has begun"

"Finish him"

"Flawless Victory"

"Fatality"

"Your soul is mine"

hehehe from mortal kombat above.

Now for some others...

"Secret door, scout broke lockpick in lock"

Found on the chest of a statue "This WAS Broud"

At each corner there is a doorman's bell. the one with a rope and leads up to a bell, when pulled it rings throughout the hallway, echoing down all the areas. It might not seem like much to the group, but you can add in that the bells can do a time shift. IE Tomb Raider, ring bell to crack open the wall that separates the last piece of the Triangle of Light from everyone else.

Wouldn't it be bad if ringing the bell activates anti-magic globes centered on ALL the bells within earshot?
hehehehehe

What are some things you might find written or drawn on dungeon or prison walls by previous residents?

Inside Chest: "Frodo was here!"

In Prison Cell: Picture Teleport-Key that got the last prisoner out! (Shades of Zelazny's Amber!)

Funny you should mention this...

Last night, in our Mage game, we cleared out an old node that was being inhabited by evil fae, a vampire, and a big spider monster. Not wanting other bad guys to come along and take up residence, I was thinking about scrawling a warning on the walls:
"This area under the protection of the Three Amigos. Trespassers will be executed."

We had all dressed up as a mariachi band as part of our disguise.

In addition, I was thinking about carving some kind of complicated glyph on the floor--something unique that we could scry on and teleport to in the future.

A long time ago, Pielorinho ran a game where he used wall-markings to great effect. There were these very faint blue dots hidden along the walls of certain passages. Thinking that we were very clever for noticing them, we followed them...straight into a very nasty trap!
