What monsters should be in a sequel to Tome of Horrors?

What about gripili? You know, the lil frog dudes. I loved them. What ever happened to them? Someone needs to make an entire book just for them. The Complete Guide To Gripili. Hell.. I'd buy it... I'd advertise it! Even make them smaller than they priginally were, like actual tree frog size. The smallest playable race ever! Oh yeah...

Some sort of pseudo-creatures of those not SRD'd from the MM would be very cool. Not exactly the same, but somewhat similar. Like a variant beholder, a variant mindflayer that's more squid than evil brain-zapper, an offshoot of the displacer beast that is perhaps more like a regular house cat, a carrion crawler that's more of a gigantic catarpillar, etc.

That'd be pretty awesome.

Also, I'd like to see mythology mined accurately.

Celestial lords...formian queens...*rilmani*! Get some more outsiders that aren't from the lower planes! :)

But I suppose that doesn't focus ToH2 on anything like the earlier-era monsters that the ToH1 contained....so it may not be very helpful. ^_^

thought they were in there, but i'm at work so i can't check.

I do seem to recall a fey or two that were left out, but I can't remember what. Maybe I'm dreaming.

More player character stats for some of the races, though. All of the humanoid races should have player-stats spelled out. Some of the fey in ToH noteably didn't, if I recall, to my disapointment.

there's oodles of 2nd Edition monsters too, but a few Spelljammer ones I want in particular are Giff, Bionoid (template), Spirit Warrior (template), Witchlight Marauder, and Scro. (I did the Giff entry for the official SJ page, and would gladly contribute an updated version of it for a TOH2..)

Thanks!
Chris

I don't know about Spelljammer monsters in a ToH2. I mean, I love Spelljammer, but if there'd be more than a few monsters from that setting, they should go someplace thats distinctive to them. Ideally, the official site would be more organized in official-dom, but that's beyond the scope of this thread. That said, those official SJ monsters can be seen here.

Other monsters I'd really like to see would be the devilswine, tabaxi, amphisbaena, rakasta, the rest of the linnorm dragons, the living steel...in fact, lets just say all the monsters from 2E's Monstrous Compendium Annual series...some of those creatures, like the arch-shadows and such, were really great.

And of course, more than anything else I just mentioned, I would like the see the rest of the palanar-alignment races fleshed out! Last I checked, there were...

still a few kinds of tanar'ri left (alkiliths, for example)

I think all the baatezu were converted

there's still plenty of yugoloths to go (including the unique ones)

the gehreleths (though not one of the "big 9") have been taken care of in ToH1

Two Slaad lords remain (Chorst and Renbuu)

The Modrons are completely statted out (save for rules on Rogue Modron PCs) here

The various celestials (archons, guardinals, and eladrin) all need to be fleshed out badly

and so far, the rilmani (and that other neutral race mentioned in Tales From the Infinite Staircase) remain as-yet untouched.

That's what I would like to see (sorry so much of that was lacking in specifics).

More dinosaurs
Prehistoric mammals
Argus (from Spelljammer)
Tirapheg
And you can't forget more original monsters. All of the originals in ToH were excellent.

Demiurge out.
