What musical instruments do you play/own?

I used to play the French Horn often. I started off in band in High School and then moved on to some paid performances (in local musicals, etc.) later on.

I don't play that much anymore, but I can still run up and down the scales pretty well on my French Horn.

No musical talent whatsover, which really bites because I love music so much. I've tried several times on several instruments... even as far as taking lessons. Never got anywhere.

I can't even sing, though I sustain many bruises trying to do so. (from getting punched to make me shut up)

Used to play violin, though I'm no longer very good at all.

Have a trombone and play trombone, baritone, and tuba very well.

Also play trumpet and french horn middlingly well.

Also sing well (baritone) - I was asked to sing at four functions last month. Voice IS an instrument, right? ;-)

I also own a kazoo and several small "noisemaker" instruments, though my son gets more use out of those than I do.

I can play triangle. ;-)

We also have drum set (my sister-in-laws) currently sitting right behind me as I type this. I'm not very good at those though.

I can find middle C on a piano and that's about it.

I know what that's like. I didn't think I could sing either until I was exposed to heavy metal and grunge.

I play the recorder (don't laugh! ). I have them all from the garklein, which is really tiny and high pitched, to the bass. Most are plastic, but I have a few wooden ones too.

Intruments I own and can play....

• Guitar (I own a LTD Viper 6-string electric and an Ibanez Acoustic..)
• Bass ( I own a crappy 5-string and an Ibanez 4-string ergodyne bass)
• Piano & Keyboards (I own a Roland midi-controller and a whole lot of software)
• Drums ( I own a roland v-concert set of v-drums complete with a full set of v-cymbals)
• I also do a lot of programming (synthesizers and sequencing) and own a great many drum machines, analog synths, and hardware sequencers, as well as a lot of software...

In addition to the above instruments I am a competent vocalist and own a home studio...I am also the drummer/programmer for the band SlaveStitched.....I also play viola, cello, stand-up bass, vibraphone, marimba, and almost any percussion instrument imaginable...

I can't sing that well either but several years ago we fired our singer and had 3 gigs already booked, so I had to sing 2 of them. I bravely got through it but I learned to respect people who can sing, and do it well, who can also play an instrument at the same time.

I play guitar and sing in my band up at school. I've heard scads of people say over the years that it's soooooo hard to play and sing at the same time. I find it rather easy. The people I respect are the Dave Mustaines, James Hetfields and others like them who can play complex scalar rhythms AND sing on top of them. Still blows my mind every time I watch the "Rude Awakening" DVD... Anyway, back to the topic at hand:

I currently own a Marty Friedman Jackson Kelly and a Fender acoustic. I'm in the process of upgrading all my gear, looking toward a Parker Fly, a PRS Custom 24 and a Takamine a/e. Oh god I can't wait!

edit: As an afterthought, I can also play the bass and the drums, but the guitar is definitely my first love. SC, here I come baby!

For me at any rate, it is rather tough to sing and play. I play lead guitar, which makes it hard to sing, play the lead licks, the solos, etc. and focus on singing. Plus I had been playing guitar for years before I had even tried to sing. Add to that the fact that I basically cannot chew gum and walk (not that bad but you get the picture) and it made the experience pretty tough.
