What musical instruments do you play/own?

I used to play bass guitar in a gigging band, but stopped when I moved to London four or five years ago - I couldn't be bothered to start again up here, especially in a business as well-stocked with egotisitical jerks as music . Yes, I do miss it, and nearly joined another band about a year ago, but went to the Far East for 3 months instead.

PS - The front line instrument was an Aria Pro II Laser Active, just in case the musos out there are interested. Fantastically reliable - I reckon it would keep its tuning through a nuclear explosion. What do you mean, what colour? ALL basses are black, even the ones that have been painted another colour...

Presently, I own a:
Gibson LP Standard bergundy
Ibanez RG 550 customized
Kramer Focus customized
Fender American Strat

The Kramer is my prize, for overall playing. I bought it at a pawn shop for 100$, it was worth it for the Floyd Rose alone. I re-finished it in CLEAR (VERY nice wood), and changed the pickup to a D'Marzio PAF Pro Steve Vai model. I like the coil tap built into the pickup. It simply screams.

I would love to learn the Viola, and Violin, as well as Fiddle.

Most of my time though is spent working or writing, or well...here

For me: Piano, I love to play. Acoustic guitar a little now and then, and recorders (Descant, Treble, Tenor).

(I remember when people thought IT staff couldn't be creative enought to play musical instruments too... )

I'll occasionally pick up a trombone, baritone horn, or trumpet for a brass choir, and I can pound out simple stuff on a piano. Most of the time, I concentrate on my #2 hobby -- classical guitar.

I've got a handbuilt Takamene classical, a Yamaha electric acoustic, a yamaha 12 string, a strat wanna-be, and an off-brand junker to take on camping trips.

I own a super cheap, super crappy Les Paul knock-off, a Cortley. It's a a really heavy instrument, so much that it causes me neck pain if I have it strapped on for more than a few minutes. I've had it for more than 120 years, my first electric guitar. About nine years agao, I put in a double coil that cost more than what I paid the for the thing. Now, the connector jack is whack, and two of the knobs don't actually connect with the electronics inside, and the nut is jacked up, along with the bridge. It's still playable though. For Christmas, I got a cheap Strat knock-off. I'm still getting used to it, I think it os about 1/5 the weight of the Cortley, and has a much looser action. The sound isn't as thick though.
That's what I own. I play the guitar, bass, and drums. I'm not a particularly good play on any of them, but I can keep a rhythm, for a really long time if necessary, and that's all I ever wanted in my bands. I've been in two actual bands (Fucht, Unified Hatred), and several proto-bands that never made it to the Ready for a Show stage.

PRS McCarty Model, Charvel Model 5, Ovation 12 string and a OLP 4 string bass. An old early 70's Fender amp, Line6 PodXT. In my attic are some broken down things: Peavey T-60 guitar, Peavey Classic amp, Fender acoustic 6 string. I also bang around on an electronic drum set occasionally.

I am not very musically inclined, although, I have now waved my hands in the air so often that it requires little to no effort to not care in the slightest...

I gave up the clarinet in fourth grade, cuz I kept splitting reeds like I was chewing on a toothpick or something.

In 1992, I got caught up in the ( electronic ) house music scene and started collecting records. I was a Club & Underground DJ for a while ( DV8, 1015 in the city of San Francisco & other Bay Area spots too ) , but showing up at gigs to start work at 3AM really started taking it's toll on me and my REAL job though, so I had to stop that.

Plus this one guy ( I later found out was high on heroin ) threatened to kill me if I didn't play some Reggae. The savage beast did not get soothed that night. The bouncers kicked his ass...

I still collect records though & play at occasional private parties
& at home...

I used to play the violin, but I have not touched it in several years. More and more I think about getting back into it, I think my violins deserve to be played. I have two German violins, both gifts. One is over a hundred years old, and the other is around 250 years old. The deserve to be played, and i've often thought of giving them away, but being gifts I cannot bring myself to do it, so I suppose I shall have to be the one to play them.
