What other Essentialized classes do you want?

Sorcerers. I like Sorcerers a lot, but I find that it's hard to be thematic with them. Why Cold or Poison Dragon Soul Sorcerers have to wait until paragon to make Burning Spray work for their energy theme bothers me.

I could see an Essential-style Sorcerer gaining fewer encounter spells but conversely having more boosts in his at-will spells and having his Soul choice have a greater impact in available at-wills.

now that the power structure has loosened up I'd like to see a completely spontaneous spellcaster.

of course the sorcerer would fit
or the psion but psionic classes are already essentialized in a way.
or maybe the HotFK* warlock is spontaneous but I wouln't bet on it.

I'd like to see an essential bard too.

* snrk... reads like "Hot F**k"

I'd ideally like Bladesinger to just be a build of Swordmage with Charisma as a secondary stat, but it's looking like that's unlikely.

I could see that. Or Int/Dex. I could also see them being Martial/Arcane, and mixing up MBAs (with enhancements) and magical powers. I could see them getting Dailies to add to the feel of a fighter-type with extra arcane prowess on top of that.

Now that you mention it the Sorcerer is a prime candidate for Essentials style. In the current writeup, there isn't that much of a difference between Sorcerer types and to the Wizard and Warlock. With the looser class structure, the Sorcerer can go to town.

The different heritages should be different subclasses, each with a different feel.

The Storm Sorcerer is a classic blaster. The Dragon Sorcerer is more of a melee type, with body transformations like the 3rd ed Dragon Disciple. The Chaos Sorcerer should be completely whacky, with all kinds of automatic aura effects that make him unpredictable.

To fit the innate magic concept, I'd also give the Sorcerer fewer spells. I'd remove dailies as separate powers, and give him daily "overcharges" for his spells. These could be big bonus damage, larger area, more attacks/targets, extra push and similar effects that he can add to his spells.

Paladin striker. Something along the lines of the slayer. Heavy armor, big weapon, really tough and Lots of smiting.

Replace the stances with divine aura's, the encounter strike with smite evil. Use wis or cha for bonus damage. Throw in a few other classic paladinly abilities and I think we've got ourselves a winner.

Now that they introduced the dual power source for the assassin, I think it's about freaking time they should make an Arcane Archer.

I know there's a lot of people who'd like to play one (and that doesn't need to play a bard who pretends to be one, or a gimped warlock, or a total refluffed useless seeker) myself included, obviously.

Please, a real Arcane Archer, martial and arcane.

Also, Soulknife.

I'd like a Martial Leader, a la Warlord, in the Essential format. That way, I could have my all-Martial party with Essentials rather than having a non-newbie play the regular Warlord.

I believe that in a podcast interview, Mike Mearls said that there was going to be a new warlord build released this fall in Dragon that would work really well with the Essentials martial classes. Anyone have a link (maybe it was the Tome Show)?

This sums up what I want from essentials, not so much new builds, but instead old classes that need to be transferred over and would work better as essentials builds of existing classes.

So I agree Arcane Archer (ranger arcane build)
Soulknife (Battlemind or Monk build)

but also

Swashbuckler (Bard or Rogue build)

Berserker (Barbarian build so we can finally create Conan and I'm not talking the late night talk show host :) )

Shiar (Wizard or Sorcerer build but focused on a small elemental familiar)

Ninja (c'mon there's still room for a ninja even with two builds of the assassin, I mean there's always room for ninjas)

Samurai (Fighter build maybe?)

Healer (Warlord build - martial/divine, basically a healer that doesn't rely on the gods).

That's about it. :D
