What RPG's do you want to talk about?

I don't know about everyone else, but I am tired of ENWorld being so focused on just D&D/Pathfinder. I'm and RPG slut. So bad I pay others in order for me to get to "play". Meaning I buy and play a lot of RPG's, and I know others around here at least buy/own a lot of RPG's, even if they don't get to play.

So what other RPG's whould we start discussing around here, to get ENWorld more diversified?

Currently the non D&D games I am playing or running are Aces and Eights, Legend of the 5 Rings, Star Wars Saga, and Eclipse Phase. A similar D&D type game I also play in is Hackmaster Basic. I also sporadically run a Mongoose Traveller game for 2 of my kids.

This is what I am doing on weekly or bi weekly schedule.

Other games I like, and am willing to talk about are, Cthulthu Tech, CORTEX, Mouse Guard, FATE based games like Starblazers (even recently ran a 6 week long game of this), Dresden Files and Legends of Anglerre. Also Savage Worlds MARS, and especially Soloman Kane, since I hope to be running a 6 week or so stint of this in the near future.

So what would people around here like to discuss? Questions they would like to ask about the systems I am interested in, etc...? Almost all of these games I at least have actually play experience with, and even ran more than half of them as well. So if you want opinion based on actual play experience rather than "I read it and this is what I think" reviews, this is our chance to pool our collective experiences.

Heck, I'll even tell you why I think Synnibar is an awesome "Rock and Roll" fun as heck game, rather than one of the "worst games ever!" it is reported to be!

Lets get some friendly discussion going!

People will talk about what they play. If the users are not diversified, the discussion won't be, no matter how much you work to make it otherwise.

Right now, I'm running classic Deadlands. I've had folks start talking about 4e, Mouseguard, and Star Wars Saga games with me in mind as a player. But many campaigns don't ever get passed the planning stages, so I'm not holding my breath.

Tell me about it. That is one of the reasons why I value my Thursday group so much. We play to play a wide variety of RPG's, and have been together for right around 3 years now. So every 6 weeks one of us takes a turn GMing an RPG we like, and the rest of us get to find out what it plays like. If it sucks, you only suffer for 6 weeks, if its good, you have a fun 6 weeks. Fortunately none of the RPG's have truly sucked, just had such a different feel to them it took some time to appreciate it.

But another thing that group has proven, all to few people have the commitment to even join such a group, even after saying they want to, let alone sticking with such a group over the long haul.

My Stars Wars Saga, Aces and Eights, and L5R games are all face to face, and those have been pretty much a "Hey, want to try game "X" out?" and they happened. Have to admit the group shows some signs of fracturing because one of the DM's doesn't deal well with his inability to set up a scenario logically, then when the players ask questions to make sense out of the set up, the GM gets all flustered. Hopefully he can learn and get through it, but I have strong doubts.

That's a pretty sweet clutch of alternative options you've got there. All for a mix and wtf? if a post on say Savage Worlds doesn't get thousands of reads. One makes it worthwhile.

However, would you really want the board to loose its 'flavour'? In the purple forum the threads fly by full of largely short remarks. There's often more depth of discussion in here from very committed players posting in persistent threads. AD&D calls for commitment so . . .

Enough with the grognard love for now. Get yourselves back to waxing your Viking moustaches

Seeing as my group just started a Savage Worlds pulp sci-fi campaign, and we're considering converting one or two halted D&D campaigns to the system, I'd like more talk about... wait for it... Savage Worlds!

Hearing more about FATE-based games, Burning Wheel, and Mouse Guard (solely because of its adorability) would be cool, too.

The games I want to talk about most are Dresden Files and Changeling the Dreaming. If you want to go with just settings I'm always up for some good Thieves World discussion.

ITs not that I want ENWorld to lose its "flavor", I want it to have a flavor I am interested in. I no longer play 3E, I no longer play 4E, I've never played Pathfinder, even though I have bought waaaaay too much of it.

So I would like ENWorld to diversify enough for it to be worth my time to visit, and maybe even financially support, like it used to be back when I did play 3E.

IF the people of ENWorld are by and large happy with the nearly exclusive atmosphere of the "Big 3" that is fine too. I just want to see if there is enough people with interests similar enough to mine to pump some life back into these boards for "us".

IF not I'll just go hang out on the boards and forums dedicated to them, just like fans of 4E can, and do, and fans of Pathfinder can, and do. But ENWorld posters generally seem to have a different perspective, on the whole, than similar threads on their dedicated forums, so am hoping to get similar life for other RPG's out of the board members here too.

I can definitely talk Dresden Files! Any particular topic of interest to you? I pretty much have the books and only played a couple of convention scenarios, but I am looking to run it some time soon as well, so happy to discuss and learn more about it.

I pretty much do not do White Wolf titles, so not much help there....
