Hmm, good point.

I'm trying for a kind of grand, sweeping game with elements of epic, Howard-esque stories, Clive Barker style sexualized horror, and some punk influence on it too(think Blade Runner and Neuromancer, although obviously not with that kind of technology).

Also, Chaos Magic Theory as laid down by the Church of Thanateros.
That very much sounds like you want the Ptolus save-the-world campaign arc. Go ahead and pick up hard copies of Chaositech and The Night of Dissolution instead of relying on the PDFs on the CD in the back of the book and maybe grab the Book of Vile Darkness if you don't have it, for the monster section in back and you're all set.

I use them both Sahasra and Naranjan (Mindshadows) in my kitbash campaign setting, positing one settled the other:
Cool map Psion. I see that you have a spot called Burning Sands. Any relation to Alderac's Legend of the Burning Sands CCG? Probably not seeing how you also have a place for Hamunaptra. AEG was good enough to provide us with a few hints of that land in their various Rokugan supplements but it didn't add up to much all told. I've heard talk that there is a setting bible (several hundred pages long) just collecting dust at AEG headquarters.

The more I think about it, the more I think that's the closest thing to "exactly what he's looking for" too.

No. Actually it's a bit of a typo. That should have been Dragon Sands, being the area described in MEGs/Thunderhead Games' Dry Lands: Empire of the Dragon Sands (sadly, one of the few old MEG books that has NOT been republished in PDF by RoninArts. :( )

My plan was to start with the Dragon Sands material, and stir in stuff from Sandstorm.

Greyhawk (before Greyhawk Wars and all that)
Black Company Campaign Setting (Green Ronin)

Although it's a small area that should be placed within a larger setting, rather than a full-blow campaign world, I also really like Yggsburgh.

I'd say it's not just India with D&D trappings bolted on so much as a d20 setting with a cosmology and cultural history inspired by India.

I agree. That's a much better description than I could provide. :D
