This suggests that Zargon isn't already in 5e and that can't be right. Zargon is in every edition whether you see them there or not.
I could see Subclasses keyed to Class Groups rather than Class, which would allow for more of a hook to design a cross-class design: say a kind of magic user that can apply to Wizard, Sorcerer or Warlock and what theybshare is common.given that subclass levels seem to be getting unified, i could see any-class subclasses being used to replicate prestige classes.
anyway, other then what other people have said, actual crafting rules and feats/ASIs being separate.
Or the Pathfinder 2E versions, yes.Maybe they are going to introduce something like Starfinder's archetypes that allow you to swap out class features at designated levels.
I dunno, isn’t Harn mostly setting stuff, with rules in a separate line? Seems to me that there’s potential money in it.I get that settings material tends to sell less than mechanics sourcebooks, but without the fluff, the settings are pretty much going to die as newer generations of players have nothing of substance to grab onto. So do it once, do it right, and then you can keep using it as long as you want, no matter the edition used.
My delight at reading this makes my heart skip a beat!Hey now, you're some rando with a good idea. Plus you don't appear to be half-arseing your content.![]()
Agreed.I liked attacking the saving throws of Fort, Will, and Reflex. As a player I like to roll the dice and not just say to make a save. As a DM, I like to just say that the monster has a 14 Fort and let the player roll so I can be thinking of something else.
That was indeed my first thoughtTHAC0!

As long as it’s harder to hit a rushing target, or there is some sort of opposed roll when trying to get into someone’s guard. If it takes into account weapon reach, that'd be fine. Sure, you can attack faster with a dagger, but there is still the problem of getting inside the reach of someone with a longer weapon.
I have been poking at some archetypes and I think that rewriting the Paladin and the monk could help with the swordmage and avenger, but I’m still in the basic concepts phase. The fourth class of each power source
Warlords, Shamans, Swordmages, and Avengers.
And bloodied.
This can all be worked with FEATS.Paragon paths
Which are kind of like prestige sub-classes. Including someraceancestory specific ones.
I.e. Goliath get an extra 5' reach. Dragon born get their breath weapon once per turn. Dwarfs get bigger tremor sense.
I don't know about bringing back attacking saving throws, but I would definitely favor bringing back Fort/Ref/Will for a variety of balance reasons.I liked attacking the saving throws of Fort, Will, and Reflex. As a player I like to roll the dice and not just say to make a save. As a DM, I like to just say that the monster has a 14 Fort and let the player roll so I can be thinking of something else.
