given that subclass levels seem to be getting unified, i could see any-class subclasses being used to replicate prestige classes.

anyway, other then what other people have said, actual crafting rules and feats/ASIs being separate.

Maybe they are going to introduce something like Starfinder's archetypes that allow you to swap out class features at designated levels.

Good grief, do I miss (2). Undead were TERRIFYING because of it. You didn’t fight them if you could help it, at least not without a lot of prep-work done in advance.

Really? I think this is the usual conversation:

DM: Looks like the monster hit you.

Player: Wait, the monster ... hit me?

DM: That's right. I rolled an 18.

This suggests that Zargon isn't already in 5e and that can't be right. Zargon is in every edition whether you see them there or not.
