what spells do you use

In my current Eberron campaign, I'm using all the spells from the PHB and the ECS. Spells from the Complete Divine are allowed on a case-by-case basis, but if a caster adds one to his spell list, then he has to drop one (so a cleric will still have the same number of possible spells to choose from).

IMC I've okayed all spells from WotC except those from setting-specific books (FR or Eberron) and almost everything from Monte Cooks Books of Eldritch Might. I've also "imported" a select handfull of spells from Magic of Faerun and a few spells from Mongoose's Encyclopaedia Arcane series.

I've also made quite a few spells of my own and encourage the players to do the same.

In the campaign in which I currently play, divine spells are almost all PHB. On the other hand, only about two out of every three arcane spells cast are core standard: the rest are homebrewed. You're about as likely to see Teppin's Most Dramatic Disappearance as you are Teleport, Zambargo's Perfect Harmony of Reflection as Scry, and Ulysses' Horrendous Transmogrification as Polymorph Other.

EDIT: We also use the Tome and Blood stough (this is a 3.0 game), and obvious varients on core spells, like Lightningballs and so forth.

Right now, my Warmage/Ranger mainly uses True Strike and MM. It will become more prevalent when when a few certain magic combos are in place at the right levels. Eventually, the goal is True Strike used in conjunction with manyshot and a mighty(+2) composite longbow +1, of distance, exit wound, and explosive.

As a DM:
All PHB 3.5 spells with occasionally spells from Magic of Faerun. The players just don't seem to care about any other spells...
I have used spells from Tome and Blood and Book of Vile Darkness for villains on occasion.

As a Player:
I make frequent use of the Draconomicon, PHB 3.5, and the Book of Exalted Deeds.

Ass spells?

Is there an ass reduction spell? I want to use it on my girlfriend. Just kidding around. In all seriousness, pretty much all WotC stuff. If I don't know a spell, and they want it, I have to approve it first. I had a 3.0 campaign crushed because I didn't realize the Cleric took reach spell as a feat, and what it did. He had Harm as a 30' touch attack...a total mess

We intoduced the spells from the five 3.0 character books as soon as they came out. For arcane casters there are never too many spells, but we like staying within WotC books to avoid problems. For divine caster it's best to limit the number of new spells - since they don't bother choosing the known ones - and those five books had a fair amount.

When playing FR, in theory all spells from FR books are available, but strangely they haven't been very popular in the casters' repertoire.
