What the heck did I ever do without it?

DVR. Rocks!

The only reason I got it is because I have to get a part time night job eating :):):):) at a telemarketing outfit to pay off some credit card bills. I don't want to miss my shows so I traded in my digital box for one of these babies. Wow! I couldn't stop playing with it all weekend. :heh: Drove with wife insane pausing live TV just because I could.

Yep. My first experience with "how did I survive without it?" was my first PDA, a Visor Deluxe. (I've since owned a Visor Prism, A Treo 300, a Treo 600, and a Treo 650. Never regretted any of them). TiVo was my second experience of that nature, and I've become a TiVangelist.

My wife and I love DVR. Our previous Satellite box had DVR and we loved it. Now we have TiVo. I find TiVo's lack of an actual "stop" button rather frustrating, though, but it does have some features that are nicer than the DVR on our satellite box.

You can also watch American Idol's Wednesday night show much, much faster when you TiVo it. :)

you talked to your wife or other things IYKWIMAITYD. you read books. you played D&D. you lived life not strapped down to the b00b tube

I'm on the road right now. Before I left, I transferred the last episode of Lost and a special on the War of 1812 from my Tivo to my laptop. I watched Lost last night. I love Tivo-to-go. :)

I got a DVR from my CableCo when there was a two hour block where I wanted to watch two shows on at the same time... and it was my tabletop game night; my CableCo's DVR lets me record two shows at once. So I got one.

Now... I don't watch TV live except for sports, news, and SportsCenter; I just scan the program guide for interesting shows and record the series.

And I lent my VCR to my DM :) .

I'm not very interested in DVR, but I have thought of picking up a part time night job for a few months for that same reason.

I **love** our DVR. It's really, really good for recording the shows that my husband doesn't want to watch. (ie - ER and Judging Amy... ahh, I love TV!!)

I'm not looking forward to it but I'm going to suck it up, eat the *ahem* and enjoy next fall being able to actually have disposable income because all my credit card bills are paid off.
