Having had a recent experience with the pre-publication quickstart, I think the answer for a generic, accessible fantasy RPG after D&D might be the upcoming new edition of Dragonbane (or Drakar och Demoner, as I wish they would also call the English edition) by Fria Ligan. It seems to have just the right mix of crunch and speed for pick-up-and-play, which is really all I use 5E for.

My list would be GURPS Dungeon Fantasy, Savage Worlds, Mutants & Masterminds.

Though, for me, it's more D&D is my alt when I can't find players for these other games.
