what I'm tired of.... the five million sub races for elves, dwarves, halflings....

who needs forest elves, city elves, suburban elves, exurban elves, elves who like wearing funny hats, elves who dont like wearing funny hats, elves who are right handed, elves who are left
handed, elves who arnt realy elves but are called elves anyway...

Its ok for a setting to have one type of race, but 10 variant sub races is realy realy wierd.

Small races.

If I was god, small races would get so many penalties to combat capabilities due to their size that it would be suicidal to actually play one. Unfortunately, I am not god, and other than my own tastes I have no good reason to either outlaw small races or implement suggested rules.

However, if you look at some of the small races presented by these books, they look so damn frail. Fighting a halfling is like fighting a little kid. A cripple could kill them. Hell, I could kill one. Nothing smaller than a dwarf please.
I don't have any 3E books handy but would a chimpanzee be considered small? :uhoh:

I'm sick of all the races except humans, quite frankly. I'm even tired of goblinoids...So there! Call me Mr. Grumpypants!

I'm with Mr. Grumpypants on this one.:p

I'm tired of all the races except humans. Bandits and pirates and evil overlords, oh my!

For me, cat races. NO MORE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Blue Rose looked like it could be interesting, but one of the things I disliked was that they have cats as a player race. Not cat people mind you, but oversized telepathic Siamese cats.

Some internet site I Google up says:
SIZE:
Standing approximately 4 feet high, males weigh between 90 and 120 pounds, while females weigh between 60 and 110 pounds.

3.5 size categories:
Small: 2-4 ft., 8-60 lb.
Medium: 4-8 ft., 60-500 lb.

So I'd say they're Medium. Not by much, but...

The MM gives a Small dog Str 13, Dex 17, Con 15 and a 1d4 bite, though. It'd murder a commoner. A bit much. :p

Player character races.

I have no problem with psionic underdark catgnomes, as long as they're not written up as core PC races. That's one of the things I disliked in the Expanded Psionics Handbook -- all those weirdoes, maenads, gromites, wallaces, psionic half-giants, elans, etc.

Also, elf subraces. Elves annoy me. And elven subraces are always described as playable. For a time, the drow were an exception, but everyone knows how low they have fallen.

And, finally, half-humans. Nothing against half-celestial or half-dragon as they are templates, but halfbreeds as races rather than odd templates annoy me, especially because one of the half is always human -- even for things like half-giant.

Yeah. Except for some outsiders than are conceptually half-fiends with racial HD. (Draegloth, Durzagon.)

Drow,

Generic humanoids with virtually no differences or that really aid munchkin players

Half- races

Drow (again - they irritate me that much!)
