What videogames are you playing in 2025?

Thanks for the review on that @Ruin Explorer; that sort of thing is generally my jam, so I've been keeping half an eye on it, but I need to wait and see if it ever becomes available on GOG anyway, and I'm backlogged as can be (not helped by being in the middle of a Long War playthrough).

Been playing Final Fantasy X because Clair Obscur was so good it reminded it how much I loved another one of my favorite games (and I have no way of playing Lost Odyssey currently) and chat, it's still absolutely awesome.

Also Blitzball rules I will be taking no questions

Fallout 3 GOTY Edition is currently on sale on Steam for only NZ$12. Still reckon I should wait?

Some people are really sensitive to the change in graphics over the last few years. Personally with that price (which is, I believe, about eight bucks American, I don't think you could lose, though it took a while for the non-turn based nature of FO3 to settle in for me.

I recently picked up Moonring which is a retro game, inspired by Ultima (4, I think) and developed by one of the original developers of Fable.

It’s free for the full game, so what’s not to like? There is a paid-for add-on if you like it and want to support the developer.

Are the graphics in Fallout 3 really noticeably worse than in Fallout 4? They don't look all that bad in the Steam previews. I've never played the original Fallout games and am not fond of turn-based games, so that's fine.

It's a pretty old game now and has its quirks and bugs. You'd probably have a perfectly good time playing it now, but I personally won't be going back to it anytime soon without the remaster.

In a word: yes

It's a 2008 game and it didn't look particularly good even by 2008 standards (also one of the most "reality is grey-brown" games in human history and no the theme doesn't remotely excuse it - c.f. all other Fallout games). Whereas FO4 was a 2015 game that was somewhat sensitive to allegations of looking like crap, so had made an effort to look at least decent.

There's a reason it's next up on the remake list.
