My first PC never even got a chance!

Bad inititive followed by a failed save vs. ghouls and instant presto- I was attacking my team mates.

Enter Moore, my second character. He killed a skeleton. (and the crowd goes wild)

A dire rat. I was a half elf ranger with a longsword and dagger. We hacked apart all the vermin in the dungeon and then our first level selves found the mummy...and didn't understand why we couldn't hurt it. Smashing the half rotted floor at its feet did, though, and when it fell onto a pile of oil casks, a quick burning hands set off the whole building. We all got out and then the cleric was killed later that day by a human with a longsword.

I have no idea, but it was in module B1, so whatever was in the first room there. Probably some kind of intelilgent mushroom. Looking back, I wish I hadn't done it. He was a fungi.

It was a gas spore, if I remember correctly. That was my first, too.

I don't quite recall... probably a goblin or something. I do recall the first monster we didn't kill - a werewolf managed to take out one of my allies, while my elf wizard made a run for it. :D And somewhere in the adjoining village, I found a Sling of Seeking (+2, I think) in a haystack. As others have said, in 1E you don't ask why. ;)

well Im one of the dragon killers.
although to be honest it is just the first I remember killing, with a sleep spell and a dagger.
I played for a while in a game D&D varient that had monsters, yet very little killing. We fed popcorn to Lurker Aboves, to keep them from falling on us, made cat noises to scare off gaint rats, burned rot grubs with torches* and were tied up and dipped in acid/ rot grubs by a god-like sadistic dragon. I finally gave up and started running both sides of the fight myself.
and the first thing was a small black dragon.

* Oh hey I guess a rot grub was my first kill.

First kill.

My technical "first kill" was the snake in the sample, solo adventure from the Basic Red Book. A few minutes later, my best friend Bargle and I left the dungeon...

First kill in a real adventure would be the Carrion Crawler hiding in the broken wall, also from the basic book. That was, sheesh, 25 years ago? In that adventure I also remember something about a cursed bed that put anyone to sleep that lie in it. To wake them you have to get a pea form the kitchen and put it under them... And in one of the closets was a hatbox. If searched, you find a silver hatpin worth a small chunk of change... Ah, memories...

Later!

Despite my efforts I really don't remember, but the first (O)D&D adventure I've ever played was a against a group of goblinoids, so it must have been either a goblin, hobgoblin or bugbear.
