What weaponry are your villains using now?

In my campaign I've got a gnoll bounty hunter with a whip that casts Random Action with a successful hit - it's called the Lash of Uncertainty.

My wife's barbarian wields a spiked chain to great effect.

A flaming, throwing and returning two-bladed sword has also been seen in one of my games - it worked very well.

In one scenario that I ran I also had a minotaur/fighter character that used a huge shocking glaive. He was played by three different players and they all scored criticals with that bad boy - now whenever the players see a minotaur they're uber careful. :D

Hope that helps

Wands. Lot's of magic missle wands, 5 charges each, in the hands of rogues. Having an entire back row of bad guys that start tagging the PCs mercilessly while they are engaged with the front line cannon fodder can really rip them up fast after 3 rounds. Even when the PC rogue tumbles to the back line in the first round he can only take on 1 at time while the enemy (rogues themselves) focus on him instead.

And as far as the party getting a load of MM wands? They are 5 charges each and burn out quickly, if there are any left at all.

Let's see, in the campaign I'm in right now, our group has a rival adventuring group, and they are armed with, a pair of sais, a halberd, a repeating crossbow, a scythe, a falchion, a pair of light maces, a kusari gama, and the last guy is an exotic weapon master, and continually pulls new and different weapons out to fight with.

Our group uses..
Main Fighter: Spiked Chain
Fighter/Rogue: Daggers
Cleric: Heavy Mace or Revolver
Sorcerer: Morningstar
Monk: Unarmed, or a pair of Tonfas
Fighter/Wizard/Spellsword: Warhammer or Target Rifle
Barbarian: Scythe
Fighter (Me): A pair of revolvers or a shotgun or a infantry rifle. (Backup weapon is a saber)

Go with wands of Ray of Frost and Potions of Blink, so they can all get Sneak Attacks off.

And then the party ends up with... wands of Ray of Frost.

sounds like quite an interesting campaign

Weapons for certain PCs?

Not jacking the thread, but, I was wondering do you see rangers using weapons that you don't your fighter's using?

ie. Ranger's 'small swords' and fighter's 'polearms'?

What are some odd combos you have had? What are your PCs currently wielding? What have they wielded?

Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency... Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope... Our four...no... Amongst our weapons... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise...

I'll come in again.
