I nominate Hong for a 3 Charisma- but he's got lots of ranks in bluff!

:p

No way, mang. If I had 3 Cha, you wouldn't even have remembered me, let alone mentioned me in this thread.

Well, let's take the stats in their proper order: STR, INT, WIS, DEX, CON, CHA.

Low STR. Not 3, but average at best and probably the low end of average (10?).

Best standardized test was GRE in 1986 - 700 Verbal, 710 Math, 790 Analytical Reasoning (like the SAT, each is out of 800). I think that make INT my best stat, but I have no idea what that stat would be.

I am a Wisdom Savant. My Wisdom score is probably a 3. But once in a while, I have a flash of insight that startles me (a piece of advice that is actually good, a perception that normally I would miss, etc.) Or maybe those are just my natural 20 rolls on a Wisdom check.... I am sometimes good at spotting things, so I must have a lot of ranks in Spot, and maybe Skill Focus: Spot, to make up for that -4 Wisdom modifier.

DEX. Hmmmm, nothing really stands out (I'm not some dextrous monkey, but I'm not some bull in a china shop, either). Probably just average (at best).

Moderately high tolerance for pain, good endurance on light activities (like walking, but no lung capacity at all for running or swimming), stubborn as heck. I almost never get sick. Maybe a pretty decent CON (above average at least).

CHA - I am clueless about my own stat. I was talking to someone who saw me compete in a national speech tournament and remembered my speech - 18 years later. Guess I made an impression on someone, but a sample size of 1 isn't that worthwhile. :p

the proper order should be:

Str
Int
Wis
Con
Dex
Cha

st00pid Supplement I Greyhawk bled with the intro of the thief... caused Basic and Advanced to mess up the order. :p

I can stat Teflon Billy because I once lived with him for 18 months and have known him for about 10 years:

Str 13
Dex 10
Con 14
Int 15
Wis 8
Cha 16

Alignment: Neutral*
Class: Rogue 1/Expert 1/Fighter 2
Race: Human
Skills: Bluff +12, Diplomacy +14, Gather Information +8, Forgery +4, Intimidate +14, Knowledge (local) +5, Perform +6, Sense Motive +6, Search +4, Craft (Hair) +9, Profession (Hairdresser) +6, Profession (Writer) +3, Spot +0, Listen +0

Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike, Improved Grapple, Negotiator, Persuasive

TB uses special evil-aligned hair products every day so that he detects as evil.

I believe I've followed the rules to the letter here to generate these skill numbers -- I guess D&D can model some people I know.

Well, fair enough.

You would have had a Listen of -1 if I hadn't assigned a skill point to it! I'm suggesting you're a better listener than the average 8 wisdom character.

As for the writing and hairdressing, profession skills are about your ability to survive doing the job, not your ability to actually do the job. Note the much higher bonus for Craft (Hair) than Profession (Hairdresser); the actual ability to writea story is, sadly, not expressed in the core rules because crafting is limited to physical objects.
