What would you like to see dropped from Dungeon?

What about adventures? I mean every dang month it is adventure after adventure. Give it break already with the high quality adventures. Where's the originality? How about a fashion review or an interview with an 80's rocker? No wonder this rag isn't mainstream...

You're doin' great! Don't change a thing;)

I am surprised to read all the hate of Downer. It is the only comic in all of Dungeon and Dragon Magazines to actually have a D&D feel. NONE of those other strips ever looked or felt like D&D( look there's an Illithid, there's some Myconids.) I think Hunter was going for a Poison Elves feel, with Downer being a lovable bastard type-a-guy, although I would prefer if the strip were more serious (last issue kinda seemed to be going in that direction.) I don't like humor comics so much...

I suspect a lot of folks opinions are colored by web comics they like (which most of, I find to be so much dreck.)

I'll be honest, I wont miss Wil Saves however.

Get rid of downer. Crappy style IMHO. Sad to see personal bais hurting dungeon so much.

zogon is funny enough.

crap, voted for the wrong one.

I say don't let the bastards get you down, Erik.

You're doing an awesome, and obviously thankless, job.

Totally thankless. If there's one thing Id like to get rid of its the punkass b***es who complain that every SINGLE page in Dungeon has to fit their personal campaign.

Keep up the good work Erik.

Hardly anything in Dungeon fits my campaign, but I still buy it every month and read it from cover to cover. Its a great magazine, I think Eric is doing an excellent job, and I really appreciate the willingness of Dungeon staff (especially Eric, who no doubt has a lot of calls on his time) to post on message boards.

Having said that, I'll defend to my last breath my right to let Eric know what I want (and don't want) in our magazine. He's free to ignore it, obviously!

I voted for Monte Cook's page, as it doesn't help me at all. I'd be appalled if it was actually cancelled, however, because I appreciate I am very much in a minority here.

The portent does nothing for me, and I voted for that to go as well.

With downer, I'd like some kind of conclusion to the story. Then have a couple of issues without it, and start a new story that is easier to follow (and we've all got the hang of downer a bit now).

I love Mount Zogon, and I can't understand anyone who doesn't like it.

I like the letters page - in fact, when I am able to aquire an old issue of dungeon the letters are the first thing I read. The more I read the letters over the years, the more I appreciate that nothing every really changes.

Oh, and the adventures are a good idea as well. Keep publishing them.

I don't care for Downer. It -certainly- ain't Wormy. Hell, it it's barely Snarfquest. But if Erik likes it that much, I'm willing to have it bog down those two pages in an otherwise excellent magazine that I'm happy to read each month.

What I hate, with a visceral churning of the stomach, is Mt. Zogon, and it's sister cartoon in , Zogonia. It's a little pictorial manifesto of the worst instincts in gaming and gamers. "The Portent", on the other hand, just fails to be either funny or, often, understandable.

My suggestion? Keep the adventures exactly the way they are, and look up J.D. Bring back Fineous Fingers!

Erik - I am very sorry if this thread turned into a 'bash Dungeon' one but I was genuinely curious to see what were the least popular aspects of Dungeon (of course I forgot a few in my poll). While I don't care for Downer I am certainly not going to stop buying Dungeon because of 2 measily pages in an otherwise excellent magazine. Dungeon is your baby and you are doing an excellent job - the magazine, as I have stated before, has never looked or read better. Quibbling over a few pages of material is pretty small potatoes - you will notice that not a single person has said they stopped buying Dungeon solely because Downer is in it.

I think people would enjoy themselves a lot more and get much more from their gaming experience if they spent time on and focused on and built on the things about their subscription that they liked. It's like poking at the vegetables while the steak grows cold.
i like vegetables. ;)

I like Downer. When I was a kid, one of my favorite things about Dragon was Wormy. Downer is our attempt to create something similar. It's not perfect, but I really like the art and I really like the approach.
downer doesn't have the right to even hold the gum on the bottom of wormy's shoes.

diaglo "still misses wormy" Ooi
