What's happening with 3e?? Open Design, Necromancer Games, Sinister Adventures, Monte

None of that's really 3e, though -- unless your 3e D&D game involves mutants (but Darwin's World is more d20 Modern than 3e) or mecha, it's not going to help someone looking for more stuff for his game. And Modern20 is a whole different spinoff game, isn't it?

(Speaking [digressively] of Darwin's World -- when's the Savage Worlds version coming out? I think I'm going to have to get that. :) )

Rite Publishing is still producing material compatible with D&D 3.5 through its Pathfinder and Arcana Evolved patronage projects. A Mutants & Masterminds project is going to gear up soon, too, I believe.

I'm ready to, you know, use all the stuff I already have for 3.5 that I haven't used. ;)

Oh, absolutely! I'm not going to ignore all that stuff. I meant for future products, I don't really need any more new 3.5*. Pathfinder is fine.

*Necromancer excepted, of course. :)

Yep, plenty of 3.5 stuff already.

I'm not sure one lifetime would even be enough to play through just the DCCs, Necro adventures, and Dungeon Adventure Paths, much less all the other stuff.

I would love to have access to dungeonaday.com, but 10 bucks a month is too expensive. I only play D&D once or twice a month. I suppose I could subscribe, get some cool maps and then cancel after a month, but I will always want to check out the new stuff. Le sigh.

If I were going to run a 3.5-based game, I would still switch over to Pathfinder's CMB system, and I might switch over to the new skill system, too. Thus, as a designer, I don't see much payoff in deliberately writing for 3.5. Trailblazer is a great concept for a product, and if I were interested in continuing to work on 3.5, I might do a similar type of product myself, creating a version that fulfills my preferences.

Pathfinder is not high-powered compared to 3.5, unless you consider fighters and sorcerers in 3.5 to be powerhouses, so my only real complaint is that the wahoo factor is a little too high. Since I write my own setting material, and since I can continue to use 3e background material, that's not a problem. All the things I would address with Pathfinder I can do by writing 3e style material for Pathfinder.

Dreamscarred Press, while heavily engaged in our work on releasing the Pathfinder Psionics rules, are still continuing to release 3.5 material. Our latest releases were The Mind Unveiled and Formbound Mysteries. I'm working on Symbiotes, I saw Races of the Mind: Dromite being handed in just yesterday from a freelancer and I know Jeremy is working on Mounted Psionics.

We've also released two books on retooling the 3.5 classes into a class-less system called Complete Control (with it's sisterbook Complete Gear covering equipment in a new way).

I like the sound of this book as I've always like the concept of classless systems. I liked BESM d20. Not sure how this slipped under the radar on me, but will have to pick it up.

Wulf - I got my copy of TB from Amazon the other day, very nice. I recommend adjusting the font on some of the tables though as the gray background makes some of the text hard to read.

I feel this way as well. All my 3.5 stuff past, present and future is going/would be converted over.

Still, does anyone know if Sinister Adventures has gone under or...?
