What's the best food?

It's a joke I make occasionally, that because I'm half Chinese, half Polish, I'm genetically disposed to liking dumplings.

But to heck with it, I'm going to lean into that. Dumplings, whether steamed, boiled or pan fried are the best food. They cover the bases of starches, can have vegetable or meat fillings as a balanced meal, can be added to other dishes or served by themselves with a dipping sauce. Pierogies or Har Gow, doesn't matter, I'll have dumplings.

Yikes.

The amusing reply is, of course, bacon.

But one food? Man, it's gonna change not just day to day but hour to hour. Right now I'm craving pizza. So, for this one moment, I'll say pizza.

It'll be something entirely different in an hour or two though.

Oooh. Curry! A nice lamb dhansak!

Yeah, now it's curry.

If I get one last meal: pot roast

1st Runner-up: my mom's lasagna recipe

Lots of other things I am a huge fan of though and would be my go to choices when out to eat.

My son says cheese pizza
My other half says blueberries

It is very difficult to give a single best, but gun to my head i think it has to be pizza. Obviously pizza from individual places can vary wildly in quality, but when it comes to the most consistently enjoyable food, it averages well above the rest.

Second place is tacos, and burgers third. There are other foods I like more, but not necessarily more often. I could eat pizza or tacos overday. I love chili and beef stew, too, but don't want them every day.

Of course, as an addendum, since I'm sick on NYE, a strong runner up is chicken noodle soup, as I just made myself a bowl. Chicken stock, veg, a lot of minced ginger, egg and ramen noodles.
