Now that the PHB, MM, and DMG are out, what do you think the spread of "elemental" damage is? Both from monsters and from PCs. Is is the same as the past or are there some differences of note?
For example there are so many fire spells... again. In an unaltered game, fire damage will be coming from both sides like crazy. Fire resistance is common as well.
On the other end, radiant pretty much only coming from PCs and only a few classes. Few monsters and NPCs deal radiant nor are resistant or immune to it.
Poison is common on all ends. But 5th edition did something different with poison by making the poison cantrip deal so much to compensate for all the immunities and resistance.
Thunder is back to being like sonic damage was. Meh damage but almost nothing's resistant and nothing deals it in dangerous amounts. Resistance to sonic is only great in "high fantasy metagame" worlds.
So what are your observations of the elemental spread? How's lightning, acid, and cold doing?
