What's the Opposite of GM's Day? (Free PDF Weekend!)

Creative Mountain Games
"March Fo(u)rth for GM's Day!" was a grass roots, community-generated idea that has grown huge over the last few years. A number of people over that time have said they wish that there was a "Player's Day!", perhaps held at the opposite time of the year. Others have taken that idea to heart, massaged it a bit, and come up with an answer that will hopefully be every bit as beneficial to the gaming community as the first gamer holiday. To that end...

Bump this thread to make sure people hear about our new holiday! :)

I've certainly been in campaign (sorry, short-lived beasts that they were!) wherein I did more work than the GMs (sorry, short-lived beasts that they were)! YMMV!

:p

Seriously, are you sure this thread doesn't run afoul of this: http://www.enworld.org/announcement.php?f=2&announcementid=73

... just asking.

Naw. Nothing is being sold and no one, single publisher is attached to it. It's a holiday, like GM's Day, that is open for everyone to enjoy at whatever level they wish to do so. Some will celebrate it, some sill ignore it, and it will just be whatever people decide to make of it. No big deal, really. Just a bit of fun.

(Edit - However, next weekend, when I am giving away a particular PDF or two as from my company, yes, I agree that is something you will see me post only in the Publishers Forum, as appropriate.)

Well, since I don't see a date mentioned, maybe September 4th -- 6 months away from GM's Day -- might work. Perhaps DMs can mention some of the great players in their games. Steveroo can talk about how he has helped his DMs out. Similarly, maybe we could have a thread on how players and DMs can help each other -- from helpign to inspire plots to resolving inter-player conflicts.

Another option might be September 22nd -- which in the Lord of the Rings was the birthday of both Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. (Or, does anyone have the date when the first RPG was released?)

I like it Mark! So I guess we are to assume that your "particular" product feebies will be player centric?

As there is no snappy entendre for Sept 3/4th, how about a twist on on the back to school theme:

"Players Weekend" - Sending you back to the table equipped for the adventuring season!
