What's the Opposite of GM's Day? (Free PDF Weekend!)

Get a message board for the group. I've got one for my game and it keeps the players thinking about the game and doing things through out the week as they have time. The message board is proibably the single greatest thing to have been added to my game since the invention of dice.

I highly agree. I created one on ezboard and had it for 3 years before the big crash. Since then, I bought my own url and hosting and created my own board. It's been fantastic for posting stuff about the game, schedules, etc.

Even more then that. We do role playing of characters in between sessions. We get a lot of the little things that annoy people around the table done on the boards like shopping and background info and asking questions.

Publishers should give away free GM oriented material so lazy Players will pick it up thinking it's yet another thing they should get out of life for only to find it is something that may force them to run a game! GASP! The Horrors!

Clever. More GMs equals more players equals more gaming etc.

Well, let's not forget that while a player isn't a GM, a GM is still a player.

Well, you could see about a Montreal EN World Gameday to help organize such an effort. Or at least it would be a chance to play some games, meet some members, and compare notes. (There are some EN Worlders in other cities who could give you tips on how to organize a gameday -- including Mark CMG, buzz, MattyHelms, and Piratecat. If the plans for the gameday don't work out, you can always blame Piratecat. I understand that is standard operating procedure in some parts of the country. )

Mark, a quick question. Will the Free PDF Weekend last through Labor Day? Also, here is a question for all DMs: how could your players be better?

Edit: If I use AOL to view this thread, I am still seeing the wrong banner in the first post. I have cleared my cache, history, files, and cookies in AOL, but with no change? Any suggestions?

Absolutely. The "long holiday weekend" which has become a staple in American society is something I don't think anyone would mind, whether here in the states or elsewhere around the world. It's an extra day of freebie-goodness, afterall.

Also, here is a question for all DMs: how could your players be better?

Interesting question but I'll hold off on answering that myself, for the moment, and give it some thought.
