D&D General What's the safest place to live in the Forgotten Realms?

Langdarma is the safest place in the Forgotten Realms, completely isolated, protected, & hidden valley from evil and the rest of the world in general out in the Utter East. It's literally paradise and I think it was inspired by legendary Shagrala.

Just to be on the safe side I also checked the Forgotten Realms wiki and... lo and behold:

Nada.
Huh.

See, when I look up the year 1486, the year I gave for the near-conquest of the country, the wiki says to me that "The Shadovar besieges Arabel and Suzail until Nightal 1 when both sieges are broken and many shadovar fall."

That's only two of the three big cities of Cormyr, and I said "literally all", so if we look up the third, Marsember, what do we get?

"When Cormyr was invaded by the returned empire of Netheril, in the Year of the Nether Mountain Scrolls, 1486 DR, Marsember faced peril once again. The city had to be abandoned for a third time, as its citizens evacuated its walls from the invasion of the Shadovar."

Hmm.

It looks like there was, in fact, a "forced evacuation or siege of literally all its major cities three years prior to the 'present day' of the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide."

I specifically looked at the Wiki, by the way, 'cause it collects all the canon from everywhere.
Yes, it does. And it mentions the exact events I described, in the exact year I gave.

... why is it -there- but not under the page on Cormyr which covers the same years?

Infuriating.

I concede the point, obviously! I should've gone a little further East or South to avoid being tangential to the Sword Coast North/Remembered Realms.

Maybe somewhere like Aglarond or Chessenta, Impiltur or Damara.

Ohhh... How about Sespech? It got it's independence from Chondath in 902dr and NOTHING ELSE.

Candlekeep is guarded by a dragon, isn't it? And high level casters.

Who would want to start their adventuring career in someplace safe anyways?
"Oh brave adventurers I have a dire problem."
"How can we of help, commoner farmer."
"A rabbit has gotten into my fields and causing destruction."
"At least it is a dire rabbit, right?"
"No."
"Does it have big fangs and a leap ability/"
"No."
"It is just a rabbit then?"
"Yes- but we will forever call your band The Ravagers if you take care of it."
"We'll take care of it after we fetch Tim, the Enchanter."

The initial thought that came to mind was inside a unicorn's domain, provided said adventuring couple could come to an agreement with one; there aren't terribly many left though.

After that, rural, but within the reach of a city that had a history of being vigilant.

I was thinking that if there's a young adventuring couple looking to start a family, they have options to pretty much settle anywhere in FR/Faerun/Toril. What I often see here with young couples that have the means to move, they'll look for a safe place to raise their kids. That's often a quiet neighborhood with little crime and no natural disasters... So my thinking is how would that work for a young adventuring couple in the Forgotten Realms?

Waterdeep is located on Undermountain... Yeah... No!
Neverwinter has a big hole in it (that's been recently sealed, but it's still mostly a wreck), that spewed forth a lot of bad stuff.
Smaller settlements often have scary stuff living under them or get occasionally wiped out by an Orc horde, cult, etc.

Is there a relatively save place to live in the Forgotten Realms? Or am I just looking at the wrong locations? Something like a long established kingdom, with minimal hostile interactions?
Thay... but it depends on your status & possibly species if that safety is a desirable thing. The rock of Braal probably isn't too bad either.

The Metagame answer is a bit like any place the current content creators have forgotten about. And that is a lot of places outside the "Sword Coast". Also the content creators/author's favorite places like Waterdeep or Cormyr are safe as they have 'favorites armor".

There are a ton of places that have gotten less then a paragraph of detail, and many that have no details. So, seems "nothing ever happens" there.

For years Shadowdale had a group of demi god protectors, making it quite safe.

Cornberry had a family of good arch wizards to protect it.

Evermeet, Everseka, and most all of the other elven lands are safe.

Or like the purple rocks/whale rocks, they are waaaaayyyy far on the edge of the old 2E maps......just little dots of islands way out in the Trackless Sea.
