Whats this party missing?

This didnt seem to fit any of the categories but hey...

New campaign starting when i get back to uni and have got organised by emailing our character plans to each other but, as always, someone has no idea what they want to play so i was hoping the good people of ENWorld could spot any blaring gaps in our party as stands (roles please rather than builds) so we could suggest these to him as a start on creating a character.

So far we have:

Me- Illumian (sp) Fighter/Scout going dervish, should deal lots of damage and be able to get up a good armour class, havent thought what sigils yet

and then
Illumian Rogue/Wizard going lore delver, will deal with traps/open locks and general roguery but probably wont have great stealth abilities

Dwarven Shaman (OA class with 3.5 update) some fighting ability, divine spells with the possibility of going sacred fist, not sure

campaign setting has no elves or half elves plus other restrictions i can post if it becomes necessary but now ive got to go eat

cheers

As long as the shaman can heal it looks like you have most niches covered.

Anybody got diplomacy or can act as a face man?

Given that you have most bases covered he is free to play something not so niche oriented like a monk or a bard.

A straight out High AC tank would not be amiss either as your scout is probably more mobility oriented.

Don't worry about a blanced party, too many people seen overly concnered with it. Just make the character the people want to make and have fun.

The OP said the guy can't decide what to play and so was looking for suggestions of roles the guy could fill.

I know, I'm just saying he shouldn't need to limit his roles to slect from.

I agree and disagree with this, im all for making the character you want to play etc but i do think it adds to the enjoyment of the game as a whole being more certain that you have the essentials covered so regardless of what the DM throws you have the right weapon in your armoury

Anyway Voadam gave the reply id have given had i got to it first

As for tank requirements a decent dervish build should be able to give me a pretty high AC i think, but i guess something more traditional would help as well and well built monks can take a good battering.

As for all-out rogue im pretty sure the only thing the rog/wiz will lack are the stealth skills and im sure we can get by with out them, but ill put the option forward :) a straight rogue could cover both face and stealth.

cheers all
