What's up with all the 'evil' books lately?

Villains, Book of Vile Darkness, Of Things Dark And Sinister, etc, etc. Why so many? And why are they all coming out at around the same time?

Also, what is the next trend? Books about really good people? governments? insane asylums?

This is not the same thing. I don't know about you, but on my calendar, October is still a few weeks away. And all I've been hearing about is super evil books X, Y, and Z. Personally, I feel like it's a bit much. It's getting to be like the glut of monster books out there.

and heros crave villans to fight against. Since the DM's always need villans there need to be books out to throw against the PC's containing villans.

It's a give and take role...
