What's your back-up game?

1) True20: Current campaign a modern world with a demonic invasion of the body snatchers feel
2) Shadowrun 4th:
4) Mutants & Masterminds: Solo or two player games if everyone can't make a session

But for fantasy gaming I think 4th Edition should be about the only thing i need.

I still have a 3.5 campaign to run before I switch to 4e completely anyway, but in the unlikely scenario that I completely dislike the system when I do try it out, I'll probably just run another 3.5 game along with running my first World of Darkness game.

I don't anticipate I'll need a back up, but if 4e doesn't turn out to be as good as it seems:

-True20
-Green Ronin's A Song of Ice and Fire (though I'll have to wait a bit longer...)

I'll probably give Exalted a look as well for the other side of the spectrum. Failing those, I'll stick to 3.5.

World of Warcraft. It's the game all my friends play, on any given night at least some of them will be on, and I get to kill monsters and take stuff.

For getting together in person, I'd guess we'd Star Wars Saga Edition, or play board games like Betrayal, Descent, Arkham Horror, and Puerto Rico.

Like some of the others have said, for my group it wouldn't be 3.x. After seeing all the previews and whatnot, that game is spoiled for us now. To be honest we'd already grown sick of it in late 2006.

Well... assuming 4e is not fun, I'll probably house-rule the hell out of it until it's only 4e in name. Other than that, there's Shadowrun 4th ed, Serenity(I have the book to run it some day...), Exalted always seemed interesting, and nWoD.

I don't think I'll be in a bind at all.

Like others have said, I would just houserule the bits I don't like. I could even rewrite powers and classes. And I'm probably gonna start homebrewing from day one.

And no, porn is not a backup... Because, they'll never manage to create a game that will let you put it aside in first place! :D
