In the thread asking which stat people made high regularly, I noticed that many people didn't have a normal high stat, so much as they had a stat that was always low. Many people have both.

I, for example, don't like to put a high score in Wisdom unless I'm playing a cleric. I like playing characters who are impulsive and reckless, and I just don't think I can justify that with a high Wis.

Any thoughts?

Current Character? Strength. I'm playing a bard. :) Con and Wis are the next dump stats. Go figure, Cha is my high stat. Followed by Dex & Int - both are now 16.

Dump stat? Thanks, but I prefer to not have anything low if I can help it (unless it's a dictate of the character I've created). The ghought of being bad at something from the get go just seems painful. Though my most 'not a dump stat' is wisdom, simply because I tend to notice what other people are up to fairly quickly, and have a hard time always sitting on said information since my character wouldn't have figured it out.

I suppose, if i had to have a dump stat, it'd be strength and I'd play a wizard. Though I've never actually gotten to play one yet. :D

I've recently started "dumping" dexterity. It's so important and all, but right now I've been focusing a lot on my full-plate wearing Fighter.

Well, because I tend to play Paladins-- I often times make Con my dump stat... that whole divine health thing helps out... and I always take the Toughness feat (House Rule- 3 hp/level instead of just the 3 hp)...

So, I put my low stat in con and make up for it that way.

In 2nd ed it was charisma, but with the new structure of 3.0/3.5 there really isn't a clear dump stat anymore. Every stat has some concrete uses and depending on the class being run some are more valuable than others.

for the 2000ed and 3.11ed for workgroups it is blatantly obvious Cha is the dump stat.

Bards, sorcerers, clerics, paladins, druids & rangers who plan to use Handle Animal, and rogues who rely on interaction skills would all beg to differ.

I'd argue Cha was a dump stat in 1E/2E, certainly, but the latest versions of the game do a pretty good job of making most of the attributes have important roles -- ask howandwhy99 if he wishes his Cha maodifier were higher.
