Usually Wisdom or Strength are the first stats to go on the chopping block for me. Wisdom tends to lose out a little more often, but only a little.

I don't know why, really. I like Wisdom. I like the skills that use it, I like the saving throw that uses it. But when it comes down to the wire and some stat needs to go, well, most of the time it's Wisdom that's gone. I guess in the end, I'm happier playing a low-Wisdom character than I am playing one with, say, a low Intelligence.

And though the poll didn't ask which stats we always put highest, I'm always heaving more points into Intelligence. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool skill addict, and I just can't live without those sweet, sweet skill points. Dexterity and Charisma are close seconds.

this was even true in 2ed, where intelligence and charisma were nearly useless

for the 2000ed and 3.11ed for workgroups it is blatantly obvious Cha is the dump stat.
Not. Despite your dislike of the system, it doesn't cause cold sores, lead to world hunger, or promote CHA as a dump stat.

EDIT: As to my own dump stat, usually it is Strength but Dex is only just behind that. Depends on whether I am making a front-line fighter, or an [insert any other type of PC here]. Usually, anyway.

Yeah older editions of D&D really promoted Charisma as a dump stat... at least 3.x actually has classes that require a good Charisma score.

Personally I like to use Wisdom as a dump stat, I seldom play divine spellcasters (or spellcasters period) and I like my characters to have common sense on par with my own (that is to say barely any).

Usually Wisdom for me(of course, that is unless I'm playing a class that really needs it). Charisma is never a dumb stat for me...I LOVE having characters with at least a slightly above average Cha.

I often times make Con my dump stat... that whole divine health thing helps out... and I always take the Toughness feat (House Rule- 3 hp/level instead of just the 3 hp)...

With that house rule, I'd make Con my dump stat as well -- that's like having 6 extra points in Con! Sure, you'll have more trouble with Fort saves, but still. Wow.

Totally depends on the character, if I have one at all. For Paladin-types, it's almost alawys Dex. For Rogues and spellcasters (or primarily ranged attackers), almost always Strength. I like to have a reasonable Charisma, if only because I enjoy bluff a great deal.

In 3e I don't have a consistent dump stat as it depends very much on the class of the character, in 1e it tended to be Charisma, and in OD&D we took what we rolled so no dump stats - you could just have a damn weak character.

Cha tends to be something of a dump stat except for Sorcerors and Bards
