What's your dump stat?

[troll]I dont have a dump stat, I rolled 6, 18's so I don' need one[/troll]

Note: I have had a player actually come to me with a chracter he 'rolled' up

L1 Monk:
STR:16 DEX:16 INT:14 WIS:18 CHA:12 CON:16

I told him he could play if the rest of the party could start a level2 (basically he would be an ECL+1 human0

Sigh - he went for it...and died anyway.

I tend towards clerics and paladins (usually dwarves) so Dex is almost always my dump stat. I currently have a human ran1/pal1/cleric14 who has a Dex of 8. Dex is by far my least important stat because my suit of Dwarven Platemail +3 Great Fortification takes care of my AC issues for me.

my dump stat is.....

Con

The last 2 characters i played (rogues by the way)
had their lowest stat in con

it hurt

a lot

for a long time

Toughness feat is a must

dump stats always depend on the character class(s) and the personality that one is trying to achieve (hence there are very few int 6 mages, or str 6 fighters.. although at least the fighter could still have a chance ::chuckles:: )

my current character has an 8 str and an 8 dex.. he's also a very short human who stands firmly by his beliefs and morals (LN) and sometimes turns into a huge burly animal (Druid) that then takes care of problems ;)

alwyas used CHA as the dump stat...i don't like Sor and my priests may be ugly or mean but their WILL alone got the job done..

I'm always the DM, so I never get to look over a dump stat too closely, but I do have to make up lots of NPCs. Here is my breakdown:

Barbarian: anything that isn't Str. Rargh!
Bard: Str. He bravely ran away, away!
Cleric: Str. Sounds funny, but with Divine Power, Extended Divine Power, Extended Extended Divine Power, who needs a Str score?
Druid: Cha. Just needs everything else. Wild Shape starts way too late to count on it for stats.
Fighter: Int. Fighter with 8 Int gets one skill point a level. Fighter with 6 Int gets one. Fighter with 4 Int gets one. Who needs these skills? I have a sword!
Monk: Needs a high score in Str, Dex, Con and Wis just to survive. Has TWO dump stats of Int and Cha.
Paladin: Needs a high Str, Dex, Con, Wis and Cha!! Give him a 2 Int.
Ranger: Needs a high Str, Dex, Con, Int and Wis. Must have a low Cha.
Rogue: This is a toughie, because Rogues can focus on things that are wildly different. No dump stat, but make mediocre your Str, Con & Wis.
Sorceror: Lucky enough to have two absolutely useless stats. Dump your Str and Int for super impressive Cha and Con (plus toad!)
Wizard: Shoot that Str right down. Whittle away at Wis and Cha, too, if you need to.
Commoner: Ask your DM if you can dump all your stats for more starting gold. Use the gold to buy an inn. Retire.

I usually end up with Wis, then Con as low stats. Why? I'm obsessed with the fast, smart, and good-looking archetype. Han Solo in any genre (sp?), basically.

I'm with Jeph.

Wisdom and Constitution are usually my two lowest stats. Wisdom and Constitution just aren't very exciting character traits to me. :)

Strength usually comes next.

Mine is usually either wisdom or charisma. I usually pick wisdom if playing a DEX-heavy fighter, because for some reason the archetype of a brash, flamboyant dexterous hero seems to work well.

I will sometimes pick STR if the character rarely goes into combat. I don't want to get killed!

I almost never choose INT as my low score - mainly because skill points are too scarce with non-rogues to go dumping Skill points and skills based on knowledge. Two of the most important skills in the game IMHO are based on INT - Craft, and Knowledge. Can't afford to go deficient in those!

It depends on the character and the concept for me. For my Ranger the dump stats were strength and constitution. For my cleric they are Dexterity and charisma.
