Just wondering this on another forum, but I thought I would try it here.

What is the stat that more likely than not you will sacrifice for other stats? I'd also like to know why.

There's not an option for none? If it is at all possible I try and have all my stats as close to even as possible. I mean, ability boosts at 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 as well as magic items. For me, in 3.5 there is no such thing as a dump stat.

I usually use wis as the dump for a wizards since they tend to have naturally good will saves any way....if I need 2 dumps...str goes too.

Okay, while you may try to even things out as much as possible, you probably also do let some stats slip a bit...
surely you don't point buy and make everything even...

No, we roll, and I point you toward my first post as to how I try and even things out. Also, a lot depends upon character and class.

My Gnome Druid's dump stat is strength; he always has either Wildshape or Shapechange up in combat, and against the beasties our epic party faces he's *much* better off that way...

yeah, but still something usually gets put down for the greater good? Do you play any class/character type more than others?
