What's your favorite edition of D&D?

Role-playing games were invented with D&D so there's bound to be some evolution and progress occuring over the years, that more than anything else is why 3e is the runaway winner. A more telling question might have been, "Judged against what was available at the time, which was the best edition of D&D?"

Way back when, basic D&D was great until AD&D came along. When 2ED arrived, I thought it was the best think since sliced bread. Now that 3ED is here, I think that it is a vast improvement over all other incarnations. I'll vote for 3ED until 4ED rears it's head and I change my mind yet again.
