Yellow Tail! That's right, I don't know why I was calling it Red Tail.

Anyone know of a good, inexpensive, oakey, butttery Chardonnay? I'm about the only one I know that likes 'em oakey and buttery and I have trouble finding good ones.

Probably the best Chard I've had was Chalk Hill, but that's almost $50 a bottle.

Fresita from Chile. It costs 8.5€ which is almost exactly 12 USD if I can do my math correctly. A bit girly drink for a big man like me to like, but to heck with appearances, it's good. :)

Barefoot Sauvignon Blanc. About $6.00 a bottle around here, and darn tasty.
Also good! We had a couple bottles of their cab and merlot last night with a new shrimp dish which turned out to be less than awesome - thank god for the redeeming power of wine, anyway!

Always double check the location of the decimal point before purchasing wine.
It did seem like a lot for Ripple...

Actually, I have a barter deal worked out with a friend who owns a nearby liquor store. I trade him meter-free parking for booze (roughly 4 cases of wine a year). I just hadn't collected in quite a while. So it was pretty much free!*

* minus the cost of snowblowing my driveway so that he can park, which is kind of a pain. But it all works out.

I find you can't go far wrong with a Chilean red or an Australian white. There's some good plonk coming out of California as well.
