What's your favorite inexpensive wine?

I bought a very inexpensive Tempranillo several weeks ago and finally got around to drinking it Sunday night. It was great! But we threw the bottle out and I don't know the winery. It was from Spain, though.
It was only my second Tempranillo and now I love this varietal.

Personally, I'm quite fond of Menage a Trois. It's a pleasant red table wine from California.

When I lived in England, I drank gallons of beaujolais.

It really depends on why I'm drinking though. When I'm out with my boss, inexpensive wines never grace the table (he's quite the wine lover). If the wife and I are just hanging around the house, reds are the way to go.

If it's just me, I'm with the 'hound. Irish whiskey all the way.

By the way, Hellhound, what's your favorite Irish whiskey? Lately, I've been on an (expensive) Middleton kick.

Interesting. You just place the wine directly on the ice cream?

My wife tells me I'm full of it. I misremembered. We made a desert with creme de cassis.

Still, I don't see why you couldn't throw in some fresh fruit and cook off the alcohol and make something similar to a compote.
