Probably could find an old thread with something like this...I personally DON'T have a favorite(or least favorite) class. All depends on type of game, etc etc etc.

Cleric...it needs more options to show the differences between clerics of different gods. The domains were always a good start, but it really needs more.

Paladin Never should have been a core class in the first place. That and it's probably the least adaptable in spirit of any of the classes. Alignment rextriction more than anything else.

I like every class in 3.5E; they seem to be done really well.

So I chose Sorcerer - it's the one class that has a few issues.

Cheers!

I've never wanted to play a druid, nor can I imagine ever wanting to.

It's not that I think it's a terrible class...it's actually very nifty in many ways. It's just that...well, I hate nature. Or I should say, I approve of the idea of nature and the wilderness as an abstract thing that's out there somewhere, I'm just not a fan of the reality of it. (Another way of looking at it is that I'm all for protecting the environment, as long as I don't have to go out into it.)

I know, it sounds weird, but it's true. I think there's a really good reason why we started living in cities, namely the fact that living surrounded by nature in all its glory without the comforts of civilization to buffer you from it totally sucks ass. So really, I wouldn't enjoy playing a character whose primary schtick is loving nature more than anything else in the universe and caring deeply about preserving and defending it, and that means that I don't want to play a druid.

Rangers are almost in the same boat, but you can urbanize 'em and make them into pseudo-rogues, so they're okay. But druids...nah, someone else can play them in our group, as far as I'm concerned. I'll play a character class that comes more naturally to me.

my favorite class is the rogue, which probably isn't surprising

Monk. Monks do not seem to ever be effective in any campaign I have been in. They either do too little damage to be effective, get too far away from the party to be protected or get too up and mighty on their Flurry of Blows to actually hit. Monks also have no flavor to them. It seems that people who play them play the same Lawful-Neutral characters every time who follow some unknown code.

All the other classes have their places. Defenders, ragers, healers, mages, forest people, or a mix. Monk just doesn't fit and usually end up only benefiting themselves instead of the party.

Had to go with bard. I don't think it's an awful class, nor do I believe it should be banned. I just have no interest in them on a personal level.

(And I, for the record, love paladins, love that they're a core class, and love that they still have the LG alignment restriction. I like the fact that D&D still has at least a few nods toward the chivalric heroes of myth. :) I don't know if I'd say they're my favorite--I don't think I have a single favorite, which is why I haven't answered this poll's opposite--but they're definitely up there.)
