I've never wanted to play a druid, nor can I imagine ever wanting to.
It's not that I think it's a terrible class...it's actually very nifty in many ways. It's just that...well, I hate nature. Or I should say, I approve of the idea of nature and the wilderness as an abstract thing that's out there somewhere, I'm just not a fan of the reality of it. (Another way of looking at it is that I'm all for protecting the environment, as long as I don't have to go out into it.)
I know, it sounds weird, but it's true. I think there's a really good reason why we started living in cities, namely the fact that living surrounded by nature in all its glory without the comforts of civilization to buffer you from it totally sucks ass. So really, I wouldn't enjoy playing a character whose primary schtick is loving nature more than anything else in the universe and caring deeply about preserving and defending it, and that means that I don't want to play a druid.
Rangers are almost in the same boat, but you can urbanize 'em and make them into pseudo-rogues, so they're okay. But druids...nah, someone else can play them in our group, as far as I'm concerned. I'll play a character class that comes more naturally to me.

my favorite class is the rogue, which probably isn't surprising
