What's your sign?

Never thought about zodiacs before, but since my next campaign will be using the Norse Pantheon (with a Christianized spin and maybe a couple of extra dieties and expanded roles of minor mythological characters). Off the top of my head possible constellations could be:

Mjolnir
Gungnir
Huginn and Muninn
Geri and Freki
Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr
etc.

For my campaign world of Amberos (a real kitchen sink world) I have done up a zodiac, constellations and a few "wandering stars" (we'd call them planets nowadays).

The Amberos zodiac tells the story of the seasons, and each one is directly tied tp the magical name of the month it coicides with as being dominant in the sky. I've got more informaripn here: http://amberos.wikispaces.com/Astrology

Signs can be fun. You can go the MOrrowind CRPG route and have signs give PCs special powers or aptitudes. You can have them affect how they do on various days. I tried something like that a long time ago but IIRC it kind of petered out. As defined, it was easy to forget and was thus forgotten alot. But that was just my implementation it.

The concept sounds fun although partly based on my own experience and partly just on generally principle, if you go to the trouble of doing this and introducing some lore and rules for it, best to make it matter a far amount (otherwise, why bother :)
