What's your single favorite D&D creature?

Intelligent aberrations: Illithids, Aboleths. I love the whole 'evil counter-society' sort of thing, plus the illithids remind me of call of cthulhu... mmm, squid-god-monster.

It's a toss-up between the Githyanki and the Nilbog.

How the hell do I fix my sig?

Argh, just when I thought that nobody had claimed the Nilbog yet!

Oozes. Nobody suspects the phrenic ooze!

I like the Gnoll. Add a few levels of Ranger to it and put them to work harrying the PC party. Just let that spellcaster try to get his required sleep when every so often a few arrows fly into camp from somewhere in the darkness.

I'm gonna go with trolls. They terrify my players, and with the addition of class levels and/or templates, they're useable into the higher levels. Plus, I have a bunch of the Harbinger minis, and they're worth lots.

Flumphs.

They are just so darn goofy. They won a place in my heart the first time I saw them.

I think the original source was the Fiend Folio but I could be wrong.

What, no love for the phantom fungus? :uhoh:

Actually, my favorite D&D creature is any good Dungeon Master other than me! 'cause they're so hard to find around here. :\

-The Gneech

Illithids are number one for me. I fear facing them, and my players fear me using them.

Runners-up would be:
Those creepy, floating humanoids from the Monsternomicon that create mindless, pusedo-mechanical thralls. (The name escapes me now.)

Asherakes from Minions. I've used them as protagonists in a couple games. Different, interesting race that makes for an easy to hate villain race.
