Wheel of Time Netbook needs cover

Here is something I sort of playfully named the Crystal Spur of Warding (Dont know why)

Any ideas for what would make a good cover in the first place?

I get the idea that a great part of the netbook is currently prestige classes... perhaps a bunch of people of various classes standing/fighting evil? Any iconic characters, or would it be best to go with new characters?

Or something that looks woven, like a tapestry... that would be nice and symbolic.

Any of this sound good?

PS: As an artist, I'm giving this a little thought...

I was thinking a scene like A Midraal standing amongst his horde of Trollocs coming over a ridge.

At the bottom right a Aes Sedai is channeling some form of fire weave, and one or two figures stand with drawn weapons in the bottom left


A themed Idea for the book cover would be a nice Idea though

s/LaSH - The previous netbook did have quite a few PrCs and this one will likely have some also. I have suggested to others that they move away from the PrCs (still have some but not as many) and see about having an "Iconic" for the PrCs we do use. So your idea might work well.

The Tapestry would be nice and symbolic - that is a pretty good idea.

Sidran also has a good thought with the whole Trolloc Masses surging foward.

I am going to attempt to write an adventure for the book - the siege of Tar Valon / sack of the White Tower during the Trolloc Wars. If there was art for that I would feel compelled to get the adventure done

Well then, Eosin, if you've seen my art and approve of the style I might put something together. It's comicky, as in I use black lines to delineate form and contain colours, but my fans seem to like it... check it out and see if it's suitable for WoT.

It could be fun to draw a horde of hideous monsters...

Aloha, Sidran...

I'm one of the people working on the second Wheel of Time netbook, with Eosin. I tried emailing you, but the address provided on this forum doesn't work.

I wanted you to know that I saved the images you sent to this message forum and posted them on a small page I made for artist contributions to the netbook. I am not trying to steal your work or use it behind your back, or anything of that sort.

There is material there from another artist who has created pieces for the netbook as well. If you'd like your work removed from the page, let me know and I will do it. But, I'd like it to remain there because then we can all look at what we have when we work... and because its cool to see your stuff.

Thanks for helping us with the creation of this netbook. The previous one did not have art, and because of people like you, it looks like this one will. If you have any info on the pieces you'd like to share with us, let me know. So far, I only have the names you provided on this board, and I think your medium is watercolor, so I wrote that...

It is cool to show any contributer the site so they can see what we have. Artists are part of the team also.

s/LaSh - I like your stuff but I am also a comic fan. We are discussing your style amongst ourselvs now (I am just one of many mooks - with little Power Cosmic to enforce my will upon others.) I think someone is already doing stuff for the cover. we have 4-5 months of work time, so we are not in a great big hurry (feel free to throw that back in my face in 4 months). I am not turning you away - just saying stay tuned.

Cool. Unless I get a breakthrough and someone starts paying me a lot to draw, I'll still be around in four months. And I guarantee I'll be a better artist by then.

I wouldn't normally be offering free art, you understand, but I figure this would make good publicity... I'm a mercenary soul, after all. Mwahaha.

PS: If you want internal art, mention it around here and I may take a crack at it if I'm not too busy.

s/LaSH - I hope you make it onboard. I like seeing a variety of styles when we work. I saw some of your stuff, the the one you were proud of inking (it DID look better) and the dragons. I hope we vote to let you in too... and I hope your rate isn't higher than the other people we have helping us
