1977 or so. My cousin had a friend that had this boxset and, well, my days of innocence were over soon thereafter.

My first book was the Dungeon Master's Guide with the chick being held by the fire-giant-demon-dude. And the wizard with the pointy hat. Mustn't forget the pointy hats!
