When I'm 64...

Who else thought the Super Bowl halftime show with Paul McCartney was really classy?

I seriously doubt Justin Timberlake will be performing ANYWHERE when he's in his 60s!

Classy, sure, but a little boring. If he did I Am the Walrus or Strawberry Fields, that would have been something.

Considering he'd be possessed by the spirit of John Lennon if he did, I'd have to say yes! :)

Oh, I guess I hadn't realized how long a halftime show was. Thanks for the info. Well I didn't see either one of them, but it sure sounds a lot classier than the whole Janet Jackson episode last year.

As for Sir Paul, I have nothing against him, but I really think he & John needed each other to strike the right songwriting balance. Without John, Paul comes off like a goof, but without Paul, John is too serious. Though if I had to choose, I definately like Lennon's solo stuff better.

This was the first half-time show in which I didn't get bored but actually watched. I doubt most performers could be doing this in their 60's. Live too, no lip-sinc there.

Honestly, I was so bored last year that I was half-stating some encounters for my game while watching the show. When the "episode" actually happened, I just blew it off and cracked a remark how Jackson was now a complete has-been who obviously needed plubicity. It wasn't until later while watching the news that I realized what actually happened! :p

There are many artists I would have rather seen, but I think Sir Paul did an excellent job. I'm just glad they changed the format to a single performer doing several songs instead of the MTV lets-see-how-many-celebrities-we-can-cram-on-stage-in-ten-minutes micro-attention span medleys that the past half-dozen shows were.

I'm glad to they did that too.

On a related note, it was kind of cool to see my father's, my son's and my own feet tapping and heads bobbing to the beat of Live and Let Die at the same time. :)
