Silence spells force % chance of spell failure for verbal spells.

100% to name it. Silence locks down the caster if he has no way to leave the silenced area. Some spells are without verbal component and some may be prepared as silent spell but that's a very small contingent to use. Prepare stones of silence and scatter them over the whole battlefield.
Deafness imposes a 20% failure chance on spells with verbal component (use lots of thunderstones)
And what most said: Use more monsters of medium level. And let them grapple, even if some fall to the AoO some will succeed at last. Think of a mob.
Use the number of creatures you think of as appropriate ... and then add 30% more of them.

Ah, and why should the druid escape the evard's black tentacles if he changes shape into a bird ? This small or medium sized bird is weak and is subject to grapple and movement penalty like any other creature. He even can't escape upwards if the ceiling is lower than the height of the tentacles...
