When Was Your Last 2e Experience?

2E

Not counting Baldur's Gate (which I reinstalled for the first time since it was new about two weeks ago) it was a few straggler Living City modules in the fall of 2000 that came out after 3E dropped but before the *shudder* campaign conversion. We didn't even play all of those, it was too painful.

Starting a new Icewind Dale game. Early this year.

Even on a computer, the rules drove me up the wall to the point where I started teaching myself to mod it just to bring it as close to 3E as I could.

It was 1 week prior to 3rd Editions launch.

We switched from 2nd to 3rd the week it launched. We also learned Cave Bears do not equal Dire Bears. Especially if the Dire Bear can move and make a full attack on the same turn (oops, new system blues).

I LIKED that PC.

June 2000 or so. After that I switched over to 3e. A lot of the flavor and assumptions in my camapign are still influenced by 2e though.

Easter Sunday 2001 - 18 years to the day since I played my first session of D&D ever, and also final session of a campaign that had been running all those years.

B/X D&D would have been around the same time - a one-off session that we ran for a hoot one weekend. Would happily play or run either again any time.

Played 2nd edition from when I started roleplaying in around 1994 until about 1998-9 (whenever 3.0 came out).

I didn't know Basic existed and nothing about 1st edition until I joined ENWorld in the months before 4e came out.
